FAQ
Why choose Mike
Greene?
Mike is a seasoned professional DJ and “Master of Ceremonies” with over
25 years experience of providing
quality DJ entertainment in the Charleston area. You can rest assured
his attention to detail in helping plan your event, the care he takes in
developing the reception “outline”, as well as the skill he exhibits
organizing the music will result in a successful and truly memorable
celebration.
How loud do you play the music?
One of the greatest complaints about bands and DJs is that they play the
music too loud. This should never happen! Controlling the
volume is one of the skills of an experienced DJ. The speakers are
positioned for proper sound coverage to allow the music to be powerful
enough for dancing and yet comfortable for conversation throughout the
rest of the room.
Some venues or events may require
additional sound reinforcement or may even require an additional speaker
to be in a separate room. All this is possible. The sound system
is set up to fit the occasion. Your music is presented with fullness and
depth. The sound quality is superb.
Do you take breaks?
No. Unlike a band there are no breaks... the music is
continuous.
Can we choose the music to be played?
Yes, of course you can. This is your day. Your favorite
music is a big party of the event. Your music choices are very important
and the pre-event planner will address your choices and preferred music.
Keep in mind the music and the flow of songs is planned to enhance the
various elements of your event. Through many years of experience Mike
has learned that to keep the atmosphere happy and the dance floor moving
there are many factors. This includes not only the music played, but
when and how the songs are mixed together and the interaction of the
Master of Ceremonies. In the “planner” you may provide a list of
"must play" songs and a list of "play if possible" songs. Your
preferences and song selections are always given the highest priority!
Is there any extra charge for setup time?
No, there is no charge for the
setup or disassembly time. Generally, arrival time is 60-90
minutes before starting. If you require an earlier set up time, a small
charge may be apply. The sound system is set and checked and ready
to go before the 1st guest arrives.
Can we have a "do not play" list?
Absolutely. And, you can be assured the greatest care is taken to avoid
any selections that could be considered beyond the limits of good
taste.
What if we want a song that you don't have?
If the selection is not in the current library, every effort will be
made to acquire it. Of course you are welcome to provide “special”
music on CD in our planning phase.
Do you carry backup equipment?
Yes. Even though the very finest “State-of-the-art” sound equipment is
employed (Sony, Mackie, NuMark, Yamaha) a good DJ is always prepared.
Critical backup equipment is always brought along.
Do you offer a written agreement or
contract?
Absolutely.
The “contract” is straight forward and written in plain English with no
“fine print” so that you can understand the terms. It is signed by
both parties and gives you the highest level of protection and
dependability. The deposit and signed agreement officially reserve
your date.
How much is the deposit and when is final
payment due?
Normally a $200 deposit is required along with the signed agreement to
reserve your date. The total fee for the service will be on the
contract. The balance is due two weeks prior to the date of your event.
Checks, cash, money order are accepted. Taking care of payment in
advance works well as most clients would like to have everything taken
care of early so they can relax and enjoy the event.
